Labtician Ophthalmics, Inc. has been at the forefront of silicone scleral buckle development since the earliest days of its acceptance as a viable surgical technique. In 1959, Labtician was cited as being the first manufacturer of silicone scleral buckles by Dr Louis Girrard (Houston, Texas) in a presentation to the Mid-Southern Section Meeting of the Association for Research in Ophthalmology. More than 50 years later, Labtician continues to introduce advancements in the field.
Today, Labtician Ophthalmics, Inc. services our retinal specialists by offering the widest range of scleral buckle styles to satisfy their specific requirements. Our quality standards are the highest in the industry.
S567 Labtician Double Tantalum Clip is a sterile, non-bioabsorbable device intended to be implanted for intrascleral and episcleral buckling for the surgical treatment of retinal detachment. It is typically a moulded solid silicone or silicone sponge device available in a variety of shapes and sizes that is used to compress the retina long-term (up to months) to support its reattachment following the operative treatment of severe retinal detachment. S567 Labtician Double Tantalum Clip also known as a scleral buckling component, will occupy the intraocular space to provide compression against the retina so that it can reattach. It is typically removed after a period of time depending upon the clinical findings.
