Barron K202110 Vacuum Donor Cornea Punch-8.5mm
Part # K20-2110 Exp 9/15, 9/13
The Barron K202110 Vacuum Donor Cornea Punch-8.5mm features a super sharp, precision honed solid stainless steel blade. The blade is mounted in a white nylon housing with four steel guide posts. The posts are perfectly aligned with four corresponding holes in the cutting block base, thus automatically centering the blade over the donor cornea.
While all conventional donor button punches have a cutting base with a concave well to accommodate the curvature of the average human cornea, not all corneas are average. Each sterile disposable trephine set is supplied completely assembled and ready for use. In such cases, it is possible for the cornea to move during the cutting process, producing an oval instead of a round button.
The base of the Barron K202110 Vacuum Donor Cornea Punch-8.5mm features a circular groove for aspirating the epithelial side of the cornea and immobilizing it for cutting the button. The seating ring is used to insure complete contact between peripheral cornea and aspirating groove for positive vacuum. Immobilizing the donor cornea in this manner allows the surgeon to cut a perfectly round button from the center of the cornea every time. The cutting block well is provided with four small holes which may be inked with a sterile marking pen to identify the four quadrants of the cornea for cardinal suture alignment with the recipient bed. All component parts are identified with the blade diameter.
In Perfect sealed condition but past expiration date. Not for human use in the US.
Expiration dates have mostly to do with sterilization and not the integrity of the product. The manufacturers sterilize the products after they are packaged and it lasts so many years. The only products we caution customers about are ones that are absorbable or drug coated.
